National Synchrotron Light Laboratory (LNLS), Campinas BRAZIL

News from LNLS

Roberto Madacki
Users have been working at LNLS with synchrotron light since July 1, 1997. The ring has reached the design parameters: electron current of 100 mA at 1370 MeV with a lifetime of 7 hours.

Seven beam lines are operational and 93 scientific works have been performed as of November, 1997.

During injections users are requested to leave the experimental hall. All users are monitored with TLDs, all reading background.

Skyshine is the main cause of the radiation levels at the experimental hall during injections. A roof above the Transport Line region after the thin septum is being installed.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year for all of you!
