Objective | Recognize hazards associated with handling and moving large portable dewars; provide information on the devices and methods available for use when moving large dewars and the safe use of those devices; provide hands-on experience moving a dewar with the type(s) of cart(s) or rigging method with a crane that the individual will be expected to use. |
Course Content | Course is presented by knowledgeable D/S/C personnel designated as authorized trainers. The course consists of two parts: (1) Review of a handout providing information on hazards associated with handling and moving large portable dewars, information on the devices available for use when moving large dewars, and the safe use of those devices; and (2) Hands-on practice using dewar carts or rigging methods to move dewars under the supervision of the authorized trainer. |
